About the movie
The three best workers in the Spofana plant, Gustav Anděl, the Prague Public Transport Supervisor, Věra Matoušková and Věra Novotná, are rewarded. For their work, they receive a trip to Tatranská Lomnica for winter recreation. However, the holiday does not go ideally. Anděl meets Věra (Věra Novotná), who appears to be his son’s fiancée, but her behaviour offends him. Due to bad weather, they end up stranded in a chalet on Lomnický Peak, where Anděl eventually discovers that his son’s fiancée is another Věra (Věra Matoušková).

- To mark the 60th anniversary of the film, a two-metre high wooden statue of Gustav Anděl was unveiled in front of the MORAVA Hotel in December 2015. As this charater is a symbol of the hotel, the celebration attracted many fans of this film. The statue remains on display for visitors at the hotel reception.
- 1st place of the Order of the Hurvínek Smile Jaroslav Marvan, results announced on 4th November 2000 at the Musical Theatre Karlín in memoriam for the character of Gustav Anděl in the films Holiday with Angel and Agel in the Mountains - Action: poll of the weekly newspapers Televízia, TV Plus and Czech Television - Hero of the millennium film smile (the most popular character of the Czech film comedy).
