Best in the World

The main character of the film is a 10-year-old boy, Kaj. His stepfather is a man whom the boy has always admired - the brave lieutenant Wandalin Gdowski. Unfortunately, the boy's mother dies and the boy is afraid that his stepfather will give him up and forget him. He wants to impress his stepfather and draw attention to himself. He climbs to a span of a suspension bridge, looks for nymphs all night, and finally goes with his friend to the Bieszczady Mountains to hunt a wolf.
