Želary

Nurse Eliška was part of the resistance movement in Czechoslovakia in the 1940s. Her activity is discovered and she has to find a hiding place. A patient, whose life she once saved, living in a mountain village where time stopped 150 years ago, agrees to hide her and pretend she is his wife. Despite Eliška's initial disgust toward the man, she develops a relationship with him and socializes with the villagers. The horrors of war initially do not affect the village of Želary until its inhabitants enter into a fight with the Russian troops trying to defend their wives against rape...
