Description of the place
Bolestraszyce is a village located in the Podkarpackie Province, in Przemyśl County, approx. 6 km from Przemyśl. Bolestraszyce is known for its magnificent Arboretum. It is a botanical garden with a rich collection of trees and shrubs. There are also remains of one of the forts of the Przemyśl Fortress, San Rideau No. 13, which is associated with the legend of Russian prisoners of war buried in the ruins of the fortress.
A place in the movie
The legend related to Fort San Rideau about Russian prisoners of war imprisoned in the ruins of the fortress after World War I was the motive for the creation of the film "Fort XIII" (Fort 13), for which the final scenes were shot in Bolestraszyce in the facility of the above-mentioned Fort No. 13.
