Description of the place
On the border of the counties of Spišská Nová Ves and Levoča, there is the Dreveník National Nature Reserve. This travertine mound in the Hornad valley is a bridge between caves, climbing walls and rock towns. Since 1993, together with the nearby Spiš Castle, it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dreveník is divided into two main rock towns - Hell and Paradise. Characteristic of Hell, there are the 40-meter-high walls that form a tangle of narrow rock corridors. Paradise consists of various towers. From the highest point of the Dreveník plateau, one can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
A place in the movie
This location was used in the film because of its natural beauty. In the film "Ostatni smok", the rocks were used as a landing ground for the dragon, which, as it passed over the village, frightened its inhabitants.
