A place in the movie
The picturesque scenery of the Wisłok gorge and the austerity of the rock walls surrounding the river were shown in the 1968 film "Wilcze Echa", which by its genre is referred to as a Western. The rocky and picturesque slopes of the Wisłok ravine in Mymoń are adjacent to the shallow and quite wide riverbed. The place was perfect for shooting Western-style scenes - the lonely protagonist rides a horse among the rocks, encounters bad guys, a fight ensues - this is how the film "Wilcze Echa" [”The Wolves' Echoes”], shot in the vicinity of Mymoń and Besko, begins. In 2018, the location was used in the film „Boże Ciało” ["Corpus Christi"] - the protagonist enjoys freedom from the top of the steep mountaintop wall in Mymoń, admiring the vast panorama of the area where, after leaving the reformatory, he is to start working in the Drewpol carpentry shop. Interestingly, in the film, a church tower visible on the horizon, from which the sound of bells can be heard, was added by computer.
