Nowy Sącz, Market Square
Lokacja szczegółowa
A place in the movie
The market square in Nowy Sącz appears in the documentary film "Zegar" [”The Clock”]. The clock mentioned in the title is located in the town hall tower. It is an antique mechanism that requires to be manually wound daily. Its history is extremely interesting. During the war, a family of watchmakers from Nowy Sącz were hiding a Jewish girl here, which was very close to a Gestapo stationed in the town hall. In the film "Dziura w ziemii" we see the market square in Nowy Sącz in a shot before the protagonist enters the town hall. In the film “Prawo Agaty”, the protagonists leave the court (which in the film is located in the town hall of Nowy Sącz) and talk after a successful trial. The Market Square, as the city's focal point, appears in documentary films about Nowy Sącz.
