Description of the place
Rabe near Baligród - a village in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, in Lesko County, depopulated after World War II, currently inhabited by one family. In Rabe, there are 2 quarries "Drobny" and "Gruby", the geological reserve Gołoborze and a student tent base located picturesquely under Żebrak Pass. For many years, charcoal firing was carried out at several points in the Rabe area.
A place in the movie
The quarries in Rabe were used as a scenery by the creators of the TV series "Wataha". A scene of an argument between Rebrow and Grzywa was shot there, as well as dramatic scenes of finding the corpses of a child and a woman (the episode in which a large number of dead people were found in the retorts was filmed in a different location - the quarry in Bóbrka, near Solina). The creators of 'Wataha' placed the Whisperer's hut in the area of the student tent base, by the river. Rabe is the location of the documentary film Wypalony, which tells the story of a retired master's degree in archaeology working in woodburning.
