Description of the place

Rzeszów is the capital of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, which is the eastern border of the European Union. The town is located on the border of the Carpathian Foothills and the Sandomierz Basin, on the Wisłok River.
Rzeszów is the economic, academic, cultural and recreational centre of south-eastern Poland. The capital of the Subcarpathian region is a dynamically developing urban centre, where industry (aerospace, IT, electronics, pharmaceuticals, food, household appliances) and commerce and higher education play a major role. There are several universities in the city, including the Rzeszów University of Technology, which trains the aviation staff.
Rzeszów is located at the intersection of important communication junctions and the A4 motorway provides a convenient road connection between Western Europe and Ukraine. The city is rich in numerous cultural institutions - cinemas, theatres, art and photography galleries, community centres, and museums.

A place in the movie

Historical and contemporary films were shot in Rzeszów. The series 1920. Wojna i miłość was filmed, among others, in the old streets around Market Square. The Market Square itself, 3-go Maja Street and several nearby streets will be recognised in the contemporary films for young people Władcy przygód. Stąd do Oblivio and Bobry.  The Monument to Revolutionary Struggles, characteristic of Rzeszów, and the PKS bus station were used in the film Korowód. Today's renovated buildings in the area of Garncarski Square can be seen in the state before renovation in the series from the 1980s entitled Popielec. The modern G2A Arena was used in the Indian film Mersal. In the film Pętla we can see many drone shots of Rzeszów - mainly the Market Square and the roundabout next to the Monument to Revolutionary Struggle. At the "Stal" stadium and the swimming pool at Matuszczaka Street, the film Żużel was shot. The Rzeszów cemetery was also the location for the filming of the funeral scene of Stefcia, the eponymous 'Leper'.
