Rzeszów, Pomnik Walk Rewolucyjnych
Lokacja szczegółowa
A place in the movie
The Monument to Revolutionary Struggles in Rzeszów is a monument characteristic of the city, located in the very centre of Rzeszów at the intersection of Łukasza Ciepliński Street and Józefa Piłsudskiego Street. The avant-garde shape of the monument evokes various associations unrelated to its official symbolism. It is associated with donkey ears or female genitals. In the film Korowód the monument is visible in the scene when the characters of the film get into a minibus going to the Bieszczady Mountains. The car park from which the bus departs has a completely different form today because most of this area is now home to the beautiful Bernardine Gardens. We also recognise the monument in the film Z wnętrza. The film was assembled from private recordings by the well-known painter Zdzisław Beksiński, who meticulously documented his life with a video camera. The film shows the moment of Beksiński's car passes by the characteristic monument.
