The beautiful Sulowska Basin surrounded by the Sulowski Hills is a popular tourist area with many natural and historical attractions. It is a suitable place for tourists who prefer climbing activities. For those less demanding, there is an opportunity to get to know the beauty of this region from a bicycle. In winter, Skipark Rajecká Lesná is a popular destination for skiers. Hričov Castle, Súľov Castle, Šarkania diera or Hlbocký vodopád must be visited by every tourist in the Sulov Basin.
A place in the movie
The area of the Sulowska Basin, and especially the majestic Sulowskie Hills, attract filmmakers not only from Slovakia. The films "Bratia" and "Pacho, krzyżský zbojník" were filmed in the part of Hradná, which is the most famous national rock nature reserve, located in the "Gora Strażowskie" Landscape Park. The famous Slovak scientist Dionýz Štúr named these extraordinary formations of nature formed by conglomerates on an area of 543 hectares. The scenery of the majestic Sulowskie Rocks was chosen by the directors of the films "Kočky neberem", "Sokoliar Tomáš", "Marco Polo", who were captivated by the beautiful surrounding nature. The films "Perinbaba" and "Soľ nad zlato" feature not only Sulowskie Rocks, but also other natural charms of this region. Panoramic views of the pastures and meadows with the Sulov Rocks in the background became the film set for the film "Krutá ľúbosť".
