A place in the movie
In 1964 film makers started shooting the film "The Shop on Main Street". They chose Sabinov for the filming of the award-winning film, as the town impressed them with its original appearance. In the film you can see the streets of the town and its historical centre. For the exterior scenes they also chose the street Námestia Slobody 57, namely the building of the Municipal Office in Sabinov. This is specifically the scene where Piti Báči is angry at the installation of loudspeakers. The Municipal Office, since then, was moved one building away.
