Description of the place
Smolnik is a village in Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Bieszczady County, Lutowiska Municipality, located on the San River. After the displacement of the indigenous population, in the years 1951-1960, the village buildings were destroyed, only the historic Boyko Orthodox church survived, which in 2013 was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Currently, the village is inhabited by about 200 people.
A place in the movie
Smolnik is home to the beautifully located agritourism farm Wilcza Jama, where the shooting of the TV series "Wataha" took place - Markowski and prosecutor Dobosz met in the hunting restaurant. One of the eight cottages of the agritourism played the role of Markowski's quarters. Another location in the village - a tin hall of a garbage sorting plant - was used for the set design and recording of scenes from inside Rebrow's cottage (the exterior shots were taken at a different location - the Pichur viewpoint near Muczne).
