Solina, the Dam

The dam in Solina is 664 m long and over 80 m high. It is the longest and most popular promenade in the Bieszczady Mountains. Its construction took place in the years 1961-1968. The dam created a lake with an area of over 2,100 ha. Lake Solina is one of the most picturesque and touristic places in Podkarpacie and the town of Solina is a summer base for water sports and recreation. 
The dam in Solina appeared in the series "Wataha". In the 5th episode of the 1 part of the series, smugglers meet at the dam on Lake Solina. Kalita and Cinek negotiate illegal deals with Metro from Ukraine. 
Solina as the site of the construction of the dam and the bridge on road No. 895 over the San River appears in the film „Chudy i inni” from 1966.   It is the story of several people who work together to build a dam and a bridge on road No. 895 over the San River.
In the film "Zakręt", we see the dam from an unusual perspective, because the scenes were shot at the foot of the dam, in the hydroelectric workers' building and on the pier, to which boats serving the dam arrive.
"Znaki szczególne" is a series whose first episode tells about the construction of the dam in Solina. However, the photos were shot in Besko during the construction of the Sieniawa reservoir.
