Description of the place
Sopotnia Mała is a tourist and holiday village in the valley of the stream at the foot of the Kotarnica ridge. It was founded at the end of the 15th century by Wallachian settlers. This is where the so-called black sky zone is, free from pollution and glow from lights, which gives a fabulously starry night sky. The waterfall is a big tourist attraction. The village is surrounded by the Romanki, Rysianka and Pilska ranges. There are also several hiking trails in the area.
A place in the movie
Sopotnia Mała was used in particular as the locations of the films "Sprawa się rypła" and "Żeniac", directed and written by Janusz Kidawa. To this day, you can see, among others, the houses of the Placks and Kadela. A special charm of the village was the unique character of the location, which emphasized the folk convention of films.
