A place in the movie
The open-air museum in Nowy Sącz appears in historical films about World War II and films about saints and blessed. In "Janosik. Prawdziwa historia”, scenes from the protagonist’s youth are shown (including scenes with Danuta Szaflarska). In "Papusza" the open-air museum serves as a background for the life in Gypsy caravans. The scenes from the film "Pod mocnym aniołem" [”The Mighty Angel”] filmed in the open-air museum are those that have the character of rural flashbacks. A church appears there, where the Holy Mass is celebrated, and one of the buildings is used as the location of the "Stokrotka" inn. In the film "Szepty” [”Whispers"], made for the VR installation, part of the park "plays" an old village on the border with Belarus.
