A place in the movie
The buildings in the city centre of Ustrzyki Dolne, at Nadbrzeżna Street, can hardly be recognized in the film "Wilcze echa" ["The Wolves' Echoes"], which was made in 1968. The city, today called the winter capital of Podkarpacie, at the time of filming the scenes for the film, had a "Western" character, which was made up of wooden buildings of the then Militia station, a locksmith workshop and other wooden buildings. In the film, the town is called Derenica. The good main character and bad criminals ride this way several times. You can hear the sound of the horses' hooves passing under the railway bridge and across the Strwiąż River, as well as the sound of actors' heels running up the wooden stairs and floors. Today, in the area where the film market was located, there is a municipal market.
