Description of the place
The recorded history of the Wisła as a settlement dates back to 1615 when documents mention settlers producing shingles. The village experienced its heyday in the 19th century thanks to Bogumił Hoff, an ethnographer, who was delighted with it and stayed here for good. Together with his son, Bogusław, he promoted the spa and the summer resort assets.
A place in the movie
The vast mountain landscapes of Wisła can be seen in the films "Oh, Karol 2", "Nieznany" [”Unknown”] and "Drzewo i ja" ["The Tree and Me"], where they were used to show the beauty of nature and the unique nature of the location. In addition, the landscapes of Wisła were used in scenes showing a picturesque view of both the Malinka and Czarny valleys.
