About the movie
"Dziecinne pytania" ["Childish Questions"] by Janusz Zaorski is one of the last films that fit into the genre of the Cinema of Moral Anxiety, with music by Gintrowski and Kaczmarski. The young architect Miś (Adam Ferency) is arrested. Earlier, we see him in a crowded street with a banner "A graduate of a technical university is looking for a job ... without having to compromise." He tells his story to the prisoner in the cell. A group of idealists win the competition to build a housing estate. They quickly collide with socialist limitations. New elements (cinema, kindergarten, swimming pool) disappear from the project, and downtime begins. The architects decide to write a letter in defence of their project. They are confronted with fears and indifference. They see the absurdities of the Polish People's Republic more and more clearly. Misiek leaves and starts a new life, doing assembly-line work at the FSM [Polish Automobile Factory]. The film ends with an outbreak of protest.
