Inspiracja

When the Lord God was creating the world and pondering what he wanted it to look like, the Angels did what he invented. First he created clay and made the globe out of it. Then he lit the sun in the sky to warm the Earth. Then he created supernatural forces and sent them to Earth, commanding each season to have its reign at the appropriate time.

All would have been well had it not been for the Wind, which, through its hooting, made a great fuss: it was perpetual winter in some places and hot in others. The wind blew so strongly that deep pits and high mountains were formed. The angels told the Lord God about what was happening on Earth, and he was angered and commanded that the Wind would wander forever in the world without rest. The angels, frightened by God's curse and grieving for the Wind, began to tell God that not everything he had done was bad: he had built beautiful mountains that shone brightly in the sun, so God ordered more of them to be built. But the Wind did not want to build such high mountains, but much smaller ones, on the tops of which he planted dense forests. This is how the Beskydy mountains came into being, which pleased God and the angels.

When God was tired and the angels were bored, they asked one of them, whom they all liked best, to entertain them with something. Without being asked, he quickly came up with playing, dancing and singing. As his wings were in the way, he took them off and threw them away. He got so lost in the fun that he fell from a cloud. The angels started to call on God for help, but they could not tell him which angel had fallen, as they had no names. Finally one of them mouthed:
- This one fell down, well this one Ży, Ży, Ży - Żywczak.

God the Father raised his hand, the mountains parted and thus the Żywiec Basin came into being. The angel fell onto the plain, shook himself off and looked around. The view was so beautiful that he decided to stay on Earth, and they named the settlement Zywiec in his memory.
