Legend has it that the most powerful tree "Thunder Tree" used to stand on the top of Zibrid, which was noticed one day by a giant passing through the area. He was so impressed by the majestic tree that he decided to carve a magnificent budzogán from its trunk. As the giant went to work, he didn't notice how much sap was actually oozing out of the tree. It was only after a while that he realised that he was all stuck from the sap, which made him angry, and he threw the budzogane on the ground in a rage. As soon as he did, it instantly transformed into a massive rock that still stands there today....There are also various similes. Many tourists, when examining it closely, see it as a mushroom, while others are reminded of a closed fist.
The Lost Budzogán is in fact just a rock formation of the Sulov Rocks, about 12 metres high, which has acquired the unusual shape of a clenched fist thanks to the erosive action of frost and water. This natural formation is characterised by its varied rock relief and unique rock formations.
Tourists can easily get to the Budzogáň directly from Rajecké Teplice, where the Stratený Budzogáň nature trail with six stations leads, where an attentive tourist can also find the somewhat hidden Malý Budzogáň, from which there is a magnificent view of the Lietavský Castle and the entire Rajecké basin. Tourists can complete the route in less than two hours, the less demanding ones can shorten their journey by half if they start their hike in the village of Zbyňov.
