The "Terchov Heart" together with the nature trail, which focuses on the fauna and flora of the Malá Fatra National Park, is located in the Žilina Region and offers beautiful views of the surrounding nature. However, the real inspiration for the construction of this place was a folk song, which popularised not only this place, but the whole region.
The lookout tower itself, which rises to a height of 30 metres, is a place to explore nature, enjoy a healthy lifestyle, education, sport and relaxation. The place, which is easily accessible even to undemanding tourists, offers beautiful views of the village of Terchová and its surroundings.
However, it will not surprise the locals to know that the real inspiration is Terchova's famous song which sings, "The heart of Terchova is divided in two, one side is crying, the other side is rejoicing..." The side that is imaginatively crying thinks of the side that faces the cemetery, the place with the cross that marks the mass grave of the Terchovians who died of the plague in the middle of the 19th century and during the Second World War the Germans had trenches there. It is also the site of the legendary film gallows. By the party that is merry is meant the place with the climb up the hill and the lookout tower itself.
The author of this wonderful idea and the author of the object "Terchov Heart" is a musician, carver and member of the "Terchov Hall of Fame". Alojz Mucha. Alojz Mucha, who permanently lives with his family in the village of Terchová, has contributed significantly to the development of the folk tradition and folklore of Terchová, as well as to the promotion of the culture and art of the region in which Juraj Janosik was born, both at home and in worldwide broadcasts.
