On 13 May, a seminar for tourist guides and institutions for the protection of cultural and natural heritage was held in the town hall hall hall of the Galician Town in Nowy Sącz. The event was realised as part of the project "GreenFilmTourism", co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Poland Slovakia 2014-2020.
The meeting was led by Małgorzata Broda - Director of the Institute of Intangible Heritage of the Carpathian Peoples at the SOKÓŁ MCC and coordinator of the "GreenFilmTourism" project at the SOKÓŁ MCC.
The seminar presented a new tool for the promotion of the region, which for enthusiasts will be a detailed database and for tourists visiting the Polish-Slovak borderland will be a proposal of a trail, where places associated with film or its creators are adjacent to a multitude of other unique attractions.
The event was attended by a prominent Polish director, Joanna Krazue de Lendorff (Kos-Krauze), who used the region's assets more than once in her films. And these were not only landscapes and buildings, but also characters and stories associated with Małopolska.
In the second part of the meeting, the participants were invited to a curator's tour of the Galician Town and Sącz Ethnographic Park, one of the most frequently used film locations in Małopolska. The tour was prepared by Joanna Hołda and Justyna Stasiek-Harabin from the District Museum in Nowy Sącz, who revealed to the seminar participants many secrets from the film sets of well-known productions shot here.
