September 16-17, 2021 The Subcarpathian Film Commission at the Provincial House of Culture in Rzeszów hosted a partnership meeting in terms of the GreenFilmTourism project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund - Interreg Polska-Slovakia. The project team has been represented by such organizations as:
- Regional Development Agency S.A. in Bielsko-Biała (Silesian region)
- Prešov Regional Advisory and Information Center (Prešov region)
- Rzeszów Regional Development Agency S.A. in Rzeszów (Subcarpathian region)
- Subcarpathian Film Commission at the Provincial House of Culture in Rzeszów (Subcarpathian region)
- Innovative Partner Center in Prešov (Košice and Žilina regions)
- SOKÓŁ Lesser-Poland Cultural Center in Nowy Sącz (Lesser-Poland region)
and worked on implementing tasks in the GreenFilmTourism project, which are aimed at promoting the film heritage of the Polish-Slovak border area, as well as its sustainable development.
This was the first personal meeting of the team’s members during the pandemic. During the meeting, in addition to constructive discussions concerning the results of works carried out so far in terms of creating the PL SK border region film heritage, as well as creating a portal and a cross-border route, discussions were held in terms of the direction of further activities. The team hopes that the initiative will become a strong impulse:
- for the region's residents and tourists to explore the extraordinary border region from the perspective of filmmakers,
- for tourism-related organizations to create new and attractive tourism products based on the original film heritage.
The results of the GreenFilmTourism initiative will be available to audiences in 2022.
