GreenFilmTourism at the Reisemesse Dresden 2023 trade fair
The international travel trade fair Reisemesse Dresden 2023 took place in Dresden from 27 to 29.01.2023. Reisemesse Dresden is a trade fair for holidays, travel
and camping. The numerous exhibitors exhibiting at the Dresden Tourism Fair present different aspects of holidays and leisure activities. From short trips to round trips, from city tours to camping in nature, from Africa to the Zugspitze. The range of holiday markets includes hotels, hostels, resorts, theme parks, swimming pools, cruises, camping, leisure, outdoor and active holidays. In addition, tour operators and travel agencies, tourist organisations and tourism associations provide information on their offers tailored to all age groups. In addition to international long-distance destinations, the most beautiful European holiday regions are also shown. The Dresden Tourism Fair was accompanied by an attractive programme with hundreds of travel lectures. This year's event attracted over 34,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors.
The partners of the GreenFilmTourism project participated in the fair by exhibiting at their own stand I-8 in Hall 4. As part of their participation in the event, a national stand (Polish and Slovak) was organised to present the cross-border Film Heritage section. The space of 12m2, located in the exhibition pavilion, was arranged with promotional materials of the project. The stand was predominantly occupied by the thematic exhibition of the Film Cultural Heritage of Cross-border Areas.
During the three days of the Dresden Trade Fair, the entire Project Team promoted the film trail as a tourist attraction from 10.00 - 18.00. The film base and a showreel encouraging visitors to visit the film locations were of great interest. The educational board game presented at the stand made a great impression on participants. The stand was visited by both individual tourists requesting the preparation of a tourist offer along the film route, as well as representatives of travel agencies looking for interesting travel options for their clients. Visitors praised above all the opportunity to make new contacts in one place and at one time, the very good organisational preparation, as well as the choice of film tourism themes. The stand, due to its extensive range of products and unique equipment, was very popular during the
trade fair.
Participation in the Reisemesse Dresden trade fair in Dresden, Germany, is an important element of the activities to promote the 'GreenFilmTourism' project and its results. The event in Dresden is one of the
most important international trade fair for the promotion of key tourism products. The theme of the fair is, among other things, active tourism, including cultural tourism, and therefore the event provides ideal conditions for promoting the 'GreenFilmTourism' project, the Cultural Heritage Film Trail developed as part of the project, and other project results.
By showcasing the products developed to date, we were able to directly influence the dissemination and promotion of film cultural heritage among the many participants in the fair. Participation in this event certainly contributed to the promotion of both the project itself and the film potential of the Polish-Slovak borderland.
