With the participation of the main partner Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego S.A. from Bielsko-Biała and the project partners "RPIC Prešov, Rzeszowska Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego, Wojewódzki, Dom Kultury w Rzeszowie, Małopolskie Centrum Kultury SOKÓŁ" and the Innovation Partnership Centre, the final conference of the cross-border project GreenFilmTourism entitled: "Promotion of film tourism" took place on 8 February 2023 in the Hotel LINEAS Prešov.
The auditorium of this final project activity in Hotel LINEAS in Prešov was welcomed by the Director of the Innovation Partnership Centre Jozef Šimko, who said in his speech that "it is a pleasure to do such an activity where you work with so many interesting places and even more passionate people for this project". Director Šimko thanked all the actors, for each personal individual contribution to the visibility of this wonderful GreenFilmTourism project.
The conference featured expert presentations of the successful cross-border GreenFilmTourism project by the following speakers: Zuzana Bieliková - Manager of the Slovak Film Agency (SFA), Filmmaker Peter Vlkovič - organizer of the Film Night at Šariš Castle event, Martin Cubjak - Director of the Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art in Medzilaborce (MMUAW), Ing. Martin Rovňák, PhD. - Vice Dean for Practice, Quality, Development and Application of Graduates and Mgr. Art. Ján Melikant - Project Manager of the Regional Film Office Košice, on the topic of the future and sustainability of the film industry.
The IPC manager Michal Olejár, who was responsible for the IPC partner project, stresses that we have created an integrated system of information, education, dissemination and promotion of FKD in the cross-border area, supporting the development of film tourism, influencing the development of other areas of the economy and expanding the common cultural and natural offer of the border area, which will enable sustainable use of its resources. Standards and guidelines have been developed to support the enhancement of the environmental friendliness of film and television productions and the natural environment of the programme. The thematic and areal scope and method of implementation of the project has a cross-border dimension", adds Michal Olejár.
The project was dedicated to stakeholders involved in tourism, recreation, involved in the field of film cultural and natural heritage from the PL-SK border area, including public administration, including voivodeship offices in Poland and the Offices of Higher Territorial Units in Slovakia, municipal and city authorities, film commissions, tourist, educational and cultural organisations, the creative sector (film and television), tour operators, tourist guides, clusters, development agencies, filmmakers, media representatives, tourists, environmental institutions and the local community.
The aim of the presented GREEN FILM TOURISM project was to exploit, promote and develop the film heritage of the cross-border region, to increase the attractiveness of tourism, to create sustainable solutions and tools for the development of environmentally friendly film production and to create a stable partnership to ensure the sustainability of the results achieved during the implementation of the project, which is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Poland-Slovakia 2014-2020.
