Description of the place

Alwernia is a small, Lesser Poland town in the Chrzanów district, with numerous natural and cultural treasures, monuments and tourist attractions. The city is located in picturesque Jurassic landscape parks. From the south it is surrounded by the Vistula band, and in the north it rests on the Tenczyński Hump. Numerous bicycle and hiking trails run there. These are local trails, but also regional ones: Papal Trail, Vistula Bicycle Route and international ones: Kraków - Moravia - Vienna Greenways, Eurovelo R4, Marian Trail). Among the monuments, the monastery of oo. Bernardynów - a place of pilgrimage known for a long time and the market square in Alwernia with unique arcaded houses from the 19th and 20th centuries. There is also the Lesser Poland Museum of Firefighting, the oldest in Poland, with a rich collection of exhibits from various regions and historical periods.

A place in the movie

Alwernia appears in the film "Everyone has their own summer", directed by Tomasz Jurkiewicz in several scenes, presenting itself extremely attractive as a small town with many interesting facilities. You can also notice the nature landscapes characteristic of Alwernia and neighboring Trzebinia. These are the places where the director from these areas grew up.
