Description of the place
This small village located in the tourist region of Liptov along the river Váh, has definitely something to offer. It is especially famous for the Bešeňová Water Park, where, in addition to families with children, the elderly can also find a place to relax, thanks to the thermal springs. There are also dry and wet saunas. There are 18 swimming pools with 15 water slides for children. In the framework of tourism, it is possible to participate in the interesting competition Treasures of Liptov, thanks to which children together with their parents will get to know the beautiful places of the Liptov nature. In the winter months, the Malinô Brdo resort is 12 km from Bešeňová and the Jasná and Chopok resort is 33 km away.
A place in the movie
The heart of the village of Bešeňová is the aquapark, from which most of the shots used in the film The Interpreter originate. It is one of the best known and best functioning water parks in Slovakia. The first geothermal borehole was drilled as early as 1987, which is still the basis of the aquapark today. In the film there are shots first from the parking lot in front of the water park, several shots were filmed from the changing rooms and the pools themselves, where the Bešeňová hotel can be seen in the background.
