Oravský Podzámok is a tourist attractive village near the Orava River. In the village you can visit the famous Orava Castle, but also the Orava Museum of P.O.Hviezdoslav, where visitors can admire the house of Martin Kukučín and the literary exposition of Hviezdoslav. The village offers sightseeing rafting on the Orava River, in the winter months skiing in the Ski Park Racibor and Entertainment Hruštín.
A place in the movie
The Orava Castle itself but also its adjacent surroundings is an attractive film location with many historical monuments located in this region. The colour of the popular film location is also complemented by the beautiful and mainly untouched nature, which is characteristic for this region of Slovakia. Several films have been shot in the Oravský podzámok locality itself, offering mostly panoramic views of the Orava Castle and its surroundings.
