Description of the place
The village of Rudňany is located in Hnilecká vrchy, in the north-eastern part of the Slovak Ore Mountains, 15 km from the district town of Spišská Nová Ves. The first mention of the village comes from the 14th century. The village is famous for mining and iron ore mining. Currently, it has about 4,800 inhabitants in an area of 13.63 km².
A place in the movie
In the village of Rudňany, the scenes of the film "Build a house, plant a tree" were filmed in the part called Závistlivec, in the southern part, where one of the local springs is located.
