About the movie
“Otto Schimek. Wierny sumieniu” is a fictionalized documentary film about a 19-year-old Austrian, Wehrmacht soldier, who during World War II did a heroic deed. Faithful to his conscience, he refused to shoot the Polish partisans on the Eastern Front and was shot for it in the forest in Lipiny, Podkarpacie, next to the monastery of the Carmelites, where the SS authorities were then based.
