Perda, a young actor, did not get very big roles in the provincial theatre. Most often he played episodic roles. One day, however, an ambitious writer Kamil approached him and cast him in the lead role. Perd's enthusiasm turned to disappointment as he discovered that this was a boring play, intended only to show that the theatre, which desperately needs money from the ministry to function, operates normally. The situation in the theatre and dissatisfaction in his private life forced him to act.
