The Tree and Me

"A man has to do three things in life - plant a tree, build a house and beget a son," reminds the father (played by Jacek Braciak) to his son. A huge tree is a magical place for a 6-year-old. It is a place for games and shelter. In the second narrative layer, the same boy now an adult man plants a tree and sings songs remembered from his childhood. The boy's father is a typical man with his strengths and weaknesses, who likes to drink alcohol, rides a motorbike, loves his wife and child. He tries to convey his life philosophy to the boy. When he dies in an accident, his message remains for the boy to remember: a tree, a house and a son. A short film in the convention of magical realism.
