Once upon a time, in a certain village, there lived three brothers: Bolko, Leszko and Cieszko. They all prided themselves on their hunting skills, and as they grew older, they spent more and more time in the surrounding woods returning only for short rests. One night in July, the father of the three brothers went to the towers of his castle to get some fresh air. Suddenly, he noticed three sparkling stars in the starless sky that reminded him of his three sons. He had them summoned to him and told them to each set out with their team in the morning, all to return in the autumn. At dawn, Bolko, Leszko and Cieszko set off westwards in full gear. When they got some distance from the castle, each of them went his own way. The adventurous days of wandering passed quickly until it was finally time to return. The princes were slowly losing hope of meeting either brother's team.

One day, Leszek reached a small river along which he decided to set off on his return journey. Traversing the route, he reached a hill, at the top of which he decided to play the signal known to Bolko and Cieszek. The three princes played it assiduously each day, but with no response. To his surprise, after a while the faint sound of a hunting horn answered from afar. Delighted, Leszek, sensing the arrival of one of his brothers, ordered a large bonfire to be lit and supper to be prepared.

Then, out of the darkening thicket, Bolko's team emerged, and the next day, before sunset, Cieszko arrived at the camp. The brothers were overjoyed to meet and talked about their adventures until dawn. In the morning Leszko spoke on behalf of the brothers to the three teams, saying that after a rest they would all return to the castle, but to commemorate their meeting in the place where they had seen each other, they would build a castle called Cieszyn in the spring, as they were very pleased with their meeting.
