A place in the movie
The most beautiful Tatra valley inspired the director Josef Mach, who made the first Slovak colour film "Rodná zem" (Native Land) here. This music and dance film celebrates the folk-artistic creativity of the Slovak nation. The creators of the new version of the novel "Doctor Zhivago" chose the valley where they situated simple wooden backdrops. Martin Ťapák filmed the legendary Slovak comedy "Pacho, the Brigand of Mybi" here in 1975. Later, in 1978, he set the scenes of the short story film about two forms of love "Cruel Love". The continuation of the life fates of the heroes of the film "The Copper Tower" under the title "The Eagle Feather" was filmed in various places in Slovakia, one of them being the Bielovodská valley.
