Pacho, the Thief of Hybe

The legendary Slovak comedy by director Martin Ťapák tells peculiar stories inspired by the story of the bandit king Jánošík. Pacho from the mountain village of Hybe is almost the exact opposite of its predecessor: it is small and weak, with strong words but weak deeds. However, he also does not like the arrogance of the local nobility, so he begins to defend his subjects. Armed with a long tongue, healthy arrogance, cunning brain and deadly alcohol "frndžalica", Pacho will win the battle for the position of leader of the robbers. The legend of Pach reaches Maria Theresa herself in Vienna, who - like Countess Erdöda - sees the robber as very attractive. Therefore, a decision is made to send the army to Pacha's mountain hideout. Jozef Kroner appeared in the lead role of a kind of robber, and the outstanding comedians Milan Lasica and Július Satinský took part in witty and sonorous dialogues. Especially thanks to the cooperation of these authors, an almost cult film was created, the humor of which has not yet grown old.
