Description of the place
The village of Jaworki is located in the Grajcarek valley on the border of the Małe Pieniny and Beskid Sądecki mountains. Until 1951, Jaworki together with the adjacent villages: Szlachtowa, Biała and Czarna Woda were the Lemko ethnographic island, the so-called Ruś Szlachtowska. It was inhabited by people of the Eastern rite, having a separate culture, customs, clothing and dialect. As a memento of those times, a historic Greek Catholic church has remained in the village. The village is extremely attractive in terms of views. It is enough to mention that the famous nature reserves of Wąwóz Homole and Biała Woda are located in its area. Nowadays, it is also famous for the activities of the Muzyczna Owczarnia music club.
A place in the movie
The village appears mainly in wartime and historical productions. The surrounding countryside and some of the buildings were used in Janosik. The main setting of Kazimierz Kutz's film Znikąd do nikąd was the local Bacówka inn.
