Description of the place
Šarišské Michaľany is a village located in Eastern Slovakia, through which the Torysa River flows. An interesting feature of the village is a Renaissance manor house with a Baroque chapel. In its surroundings there are two archaeological sites Nad Imunou (Roman period) and a settlement from the younger Stone Age called Fedelemka. The cultural life is enriched by the festival of amateur theatres Zborovjanove Michaľany. Nearby are the ruins of Šariš Castle. Accommodation is available in the Areál Dobrá Pohoda or in the surrounding area.
A place in the movie
The creators of the film "Grazing Horses on Concrete" filmed several scenes in this rural atmosphere, which took place in the Unified Peasant Cooperative in Šarišské Michaľany. The Prešov director Marko Škop filmed a scene in the film "Eva Nová" in front of the primary school, in which Eva's sister Maňka escorts Ďoď's daughter to school.
