About the movie
The film captures a tragicomic picture of the mentality, way of life and peculiarities of the eastern Slovak region. The fates of Johana Ovšená and her illegitimate daughter Pavlína intertwine in their course. Johana, who has lived in the countryside as a single mother, has to realise that her daughter is making the same mistake as she did years ago. Years ago, Johana fell in love and became pregnant, but was left to raise her daughter alone. Her lifelong mistake was fully explained to her by the villagers. However, thanks to her temperament, she was able to cope with life, but realised that her daughter would face the same thing. The story captures both the joys and disappointments of a single mother.
