Description of the place

Sine Wiry is a landscape reserve in the Bieszczady Mountains with an area of 450 ha, located in the area of the former villages of Łuh, Zawój and Polanki. It is made up of wooded slopes of the Połoma Hill and a several-kilometre-long section of the Wetlina River overcoming numerous rocky thresholds. The most beautiful and popular part of the reserve is the picturesque gorge of the Wetlina River. Along the river bank, there is a picturesque walking route, which leads to stone banks and rock outcrops, as well as the already iconic "Moose from Zawoja" (a tree in the shape resembling this animal). The Wetlinka River used to form the Emerald Lake, maintained by a natural dam. Today it has shrunk considerably and its green depths are only visible when the water level is high. A walk of several hours through the reserve is a feast for the tourist.

A place in the movie

The area of the Sine Wiry reserve was the location for the shooting of the TV series "Wataha". The steep slopes of the hill and the rocky thresholds of the Wetlina River are the backdrop for Rebrow's escape in episode 6 of season 1 of the series.
