About the movie
The film is a moving drama based on the real-life story of the German entrepreneur Oscar Schindler, as well as on the fate of the Jewish population of the Krakow ghetto during World War II. The title character comes to Krakow to get rich quickly on supplies for the army. So he sets up an enamelware factory where Jews from the ghetto are forced to work. In 1942, Nazi Germany implements a plan for the final solution to the Jewish question. The ghetto is liquidated and some families are transported to the labour camp in Płaszów. Having suddenly lost his staff, Schindler decides to act. Seeing the drama of the Jews, regardless of the huge risk, he tries to save as many people as possible by buying them as workers for his factory.
