About the movie
The dramatic fate of the outstanding Romani poet Bronisława Wajs-Papusza. The film shows her childhood and adulthood in the times of the Polish People's Republic. The protagonist, appreciated by writers, found herself at the border of two very different cultures, Romani and Polish, which condemned her to loneliness and exclusion. The film also shows the story of Papusza's meeting with the poet and publisher - Jerzy Ficowski, who noticed her talent and made her poems published.
