Description of the place
Połonina Wetlińska is a mountain range and a pasture in the Western Bieszczady. It is one of the most visited places in the Bieszczady Mountains. The mountain pastures offer vast views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The greater part of the massif is located in the Bieszczady National Park.
A place in the movie
From Połonina Wetlińska there are wonderful views of the ranges of the Bieszczady mountains. The top of Połonina Wetlińska is not forested, and therefore it is a perfect spot for shooting scenes with a beautiful setting in the background. There, shots for the film "Bandyta" ["Brute"] were taken, in which happy Elena dances in the mountains (the scene with poignant music by Michał Lorenc). In "Wilcze echa" ["The Wolves' Echoes"] in Połonina, we see horse riders going down the valley through mountain meadows. Połonina Wetlińska, beautiful and dignified in itself, is visible in several shots of "Wolna sobota" ["Free Saturday"], when a tourist, who came to Bieszczady to admire the views, is bitten by a viper and is taken by horse-drawn carriage for help.
