About the movie
"Wilcze echa" ["The Wolves' Echoes"] is an adventure film in the convention of a western, which takes place in the Bieszczady Mountains in 1948.
Słotwina, the warrant officer, dismissed from the army, goes to Derenica, where his friend Władeczek should be the commander of the MO [Poland's communist-era police]. On the scene, Słotwina learns that Władeczek and his men mysteriously disappeared, and a self-proclaimed commander took over the power in the area. He is the leader of a dangerous gang looking for treasure hidden by a destroyed UPA [Ukrainian Insurgent Army] troop. As befits a western, the film shows
the main character's adventures, escapes and chases, duels, clever traps and miraculous rescues, and of course love for a beautiful girl who helps in the fight for justice.
