Description of the place
The town of Vrútky is situated in the northern part of the Turiec Basin at the confluence of the Váh and Turiec rivers. The most attractive tourist part is Martinské Hole with several ski resorts. Unforgettable impressions are also offered by the hiking trails in the Mala Fatra National Park, especially the very popular rafting on the Váh River, which starts at the nearby Jánošíkovo anchor ground.
A place in the movie
The historical films "Dojrzała młodzież" and "Dwór Elżbiety" were made in the town of Vrútky, shot at the railway station. In the film "Tłumacz", in addition to showing a beautiful panorama of Martinské Hole, the director also showed the historical events of the city, presenting a shot of a cannon monument commemorating the battles during World War II.
