About the movie
The talented violinist Milada Bendlova is finishing her studies at the conservatory and thanks to the financial support of violin master Strad she can continue her studies with Professor Ševčík in Písek. Strada's son Karol loves Milada and is saddened by their separation. Professor Ševčík is enthusiastic about Milada's art. On his recommendation, she is accepted by the impresario Benoni, who is organising a world tour. Milada performs with the famous tenor Štepán Urbanc. Both of them have a great success. The singer is besotted with women, but wants to win Milada's heart. He therefore takes her to his birthplace in the High Tatras. For publicity reasons, Benoni publicly announces their engagement. Both artists are taken aback by this. Moreover, Urbanec is pursued by his jealous mistress Věra Madenová. Karel is also jealous, but eventually reconciles with Milada and comes to her concert to prove his love. Unexpectedly, however, the jealous Věra also appears there and shoots Milada in the middle of the performance...
