About the movie
The film "Z wnętrza" consists entirely of materials made by the outstanding Polish painter Zdzisław Beksiński, his wife Zofia, his son Tomasz and Piotr Dmochowski, the owner of the largest private collection of Beksiński's works. Ever since Beksiński bought a video camera in 1987, he documented family life, the process of creating his paintings, and reflecting on his work. He had his camera with him even during meetings with friends and on car trips. This unique intimate diary is also a chronicle of social changes in Poland, the fall of communism and the first years of democracy. From 300 hours of video material left behind by Beksiński himself, the authors of the documentary have created an interesting, coherent story, thanks to which we can take a closer look at the master and his works.
