Description of the place
A place in the movie
The unique natural features of this protected area have appealed to several filmmakers, who have used them in their films. Scenes from the German film "Chief Big Snake" and scenes from the French co-production "In the Streams" were filmed on the border river Dunajec. In the series "Maroško", the director Jozef Medveď filmed a scene with children and rafters at the Dunajec crossing, where it is possible to see ancient wooden rafts. A scene from the fairy tale "Mahuliena, the Golden Maiden", scenes from the film "Janosik - True History" and the Scandinavian film "Let's Steal Horses" were also filmed in this area. In the ballad "Jerguš Lapin", the director Jozef Medveď set the scene of the rescue of a little boy drowning in the water at the Dunajec river crossing. The Dunajec can also be seen in the film "The Eagle Feather" or in the film "At the End of the Highway". The Dunajec River and its tourist possibilities are also recorded in the documentary "Tatry, Spiš, Pieniny".
