A place in the movie
The historic centre and streets of Sabinov have captured the hearts of many passer-bys. It was no different in 1964, when directors Ján Kadár and Elmar Klos decided to shoot the award-winning film The Shop on Main Street in the streets of Sabinov. They were intrigued by the level preservation of the original appearance of the town at that time. In the film we can see film locations from the city centre as well as the original GRAND HOTEL BOCIAN. The hotel is now privately owned and located at 52 Námestie slobody Street. A scene was filmed there as Brtko walks into a local pub and complains to his friend, who is a benefactor of the old Lautman.
